Ganga Aarti

Ganga Aarti is a ceremony which takes place in evening at the Ghats of Varanasi. This Ganga Aarti is very magnificant & beautiful and ritual of this aarti makes every moment of the evening period special and fills with the spiritual thoughts. It is performed by the brass lamps which accompanied with the mantra chant in the presence of the huge crowd. Hundreds of pilgrims, photographers, and tourists watch the magnificence of the Aarti ceremony as it unfolds.  Lamps are lit, fragrant smoke rises from incense sticks, and the chants of mantras can be heard.  Fire is offered to Lord Shiva and the Ganges River.  Fire is used as a link between this world and the spirit world.  As the Aarti comes to an end, the priests offer flowers, milk, and floating lamps to the Ganges. Pilgrims follow and soon the whole of the river is filled with lit lamps and aromatic flowers. The experience wonderfully highlights local culture and religion in an effort by the participants to find peace. Ganga Aarti which takes place at 'Dashashwamedh Ghat' the ghat near Vishwanath Temple, is very famous. You can watch this aarti even from the boats.

Shree Kashi Vishwanath Temple Aarti

Shri Kashi Vishwanath Aarti is also known as "Aaratrik" or "Aarartik" and "Nirajan" . The Aarti is done at the end of the Pooja. Aarti is considered as the way to complete the puja successfully as it is believed to forge the mistakes if any,remained during the Pooja. The aarti at Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple is performed in a very extravagant manner and is a delight to join. Not only it offers you peace and pleasure at the moment, but aids in seeking the blessings of the Lord. It is performed at 5 different times and depending on its time they are named as Managal Aarti (3:00 AM to 4:00 AM), Bhog Aarti (11:15 AM to 12:20 PM), Sandhya Aarti (7:00 PM to 8:15 PM), Shringar Aarti (9:00 PM to 10:15 PM) and Shayan Aarti (10:30 PM to 11:00 PM).
