The cruise liner named as 'Alaknanda' started its operation in September 2018. Its a 5 star luxury cruise which offers a new experience to the local people and the tourists visiting the ancient city.The double-decker cruise has been constructed by a Kolkata-based company, and is managed by Nordic Cruise line. The cruise measures 2,000 sq ft and can accommodate about 125 persons onboard. Out of the total number, 60 seats are outfitted in the air-conditioned lower deck, having huge see-through glass windows to watch the famous Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. The passengers on-board the cruise will also get the opportunity to behold the Shubha-e-Banaras at Assi Ghat in Varanasi.
